DECEMBER ’08 ISSUE: This issue marks the end of the third year that Inside Flyball has been writing about and sharing stories on U-FLI™ events, Flyball clubs, Flyball dogs, handlers, health and training information. Through the years, we’ve met clubs from the West Coast to the East Coast, Canada and even in South Africa. We’ve met a flyball dog that also detects seizures in its handler, one that runs on three legs, one that weighs less than 10 pounds, and one that runs a 3.6 second race. We’ve seen clubs happily debut dogs that they feared would never run and just this year alone we’ve seen two clubs break world records. We’ve learned how to motivate our dogs to be the best they can be, how to be more competent handlers, and how to be the best teammates the Flyball community has ever seen.
This marks the final issue of Inside Flyball for a while. After three years of on-line publication it’s time to restructure and try to bring back to the flyball community the very best of Flyball; a fresh approach. I would like to give a very warm and heartfelt thank you to the entire U-FLI™ board for believing, three years ago, that Inside Flyball could make a difference in the U-FLI™ Flyball community and giving me the space to bring my vision to the web for all to see. Inside Flyball has been everything I had hoped for and one day again, hopefully, it can be even more.
Thank you all for your support along the way, for your participation, and for your continued readership. Please enjoy this issue as you meet Instant Replay, the Division 1 U-FLI™ Champions and their dog Jack-Jack, the fastest dog on record in U-FLI™. You’ll also see a bit of the Championships in Memphis through the photos and comments shared by those who were there. In this issue you’ll also learn about Acu-Massage provided by Hearts o Fire and you’ll meet a flyball duo that proves that you can be any age and that your dog doesn’t have to be the fastest around, and that you can still be the glue that holds a flyball club together.
Enjoy!

“Congratulations to all competitors in the Championship - especially Instant Replay and Hyper Flight for their 1st and 2nd place finishes in Division 1. Your race yesterday morning was truly the best flyball I’ve ever seen.”
Inside Flyball would like to thank the following people for being so generous with their time and submission of photos of the U-FLI™ Championship tournament, Dream Team Challenges, and the weekend tournament. Without their support, Inside Flyball could not have posted coverage of the U-FLI™ Championship tournament, hosted by Fetchin Frenzi. With the convenience of the internet, digital cameras and the web, your photos and visions of friendship, camaraderie and teamwork can be shared with all to see. Thank you all so much for your photos and your videos!
A note to my dear friend Chris and all of her Inside Flyball Viewers, my name is Jenn and I am one of the web designers who has worked with Chris on this web site for the last three years. I just want to tell you how much love, sweat and tears went into this online venture! I have never seen a passion and love for animals and the excitement of flyball like Chris has. She was so alive when it came to writing stories for Inside Flyball. Finding photos that would capture her excitement was so much fun. And oh, the late nights! You would have thought we were putting out the New York Times! Chris always wanted to make sure that you got the best - and every month we did our best to make that happen! This issue is bittersweet! Thanks Chris for three great years of fun, screaming, laughter, and satisfaction! It was a true blessing to share these moments with you, and I hope your members were just as touched as I was! Now can we finally go out for our cup of coffee! :-) Cheers!
